HISTORY
Five Star Music and Dance has been dedicated to place students and teachers together in a musically enriched environment. Five Star Music and Dance is located right in the heart of Glendale, California. FSMD has 6 different classrooms/studios which include a Music Recording Studio as well as a Dance Studio used by both our music and dance students. FSMD has developed from its roots as a piano store, only teaching piano lessons, as it evolved into a full service music retail outlet & educational facility. FSMD now provides lessons in various instruments such as the piano, deyboard, guitar, bass, violine, flute, recorder, percussion, saxophone, drums, duduk, shvi, zurna, vocal, various dance classes, painting and etc. The company Five is honored to have over 25 qualified and experienced Instructors teaching students of all ages. The growth has been primarily achieved through positive word of mouth and referrals from our happy students, parents, teachers, and all our customers.

Our Philosophy
Education
Local public school districts, as well as private high schools, have faced tremendous financial challenges throughout the past ten years. As a result, Music & Dance programs in these schools do not adequately prepare most students for the study of music. Therefore, FSMD's Music & Dance department is designed to address the needs of all students. For this reason, our mission, goals, & objectives are strongly addressed.

Mr. Edwin Galestian:
Mr. Edwin Galestian is a Music School Department Director, has over 36 years of experience teaching piano. He has studied composition & mastered the art of music at the University of Tehran. His students travel to Glendale, California as far as Seal Beach, Glendora, Chatsworth, Thousand Oaks, Irvine, City of Orange, etc. (more info coming soon).
INSTRUCTORS & FACULTY
Along with FSMD's Music & Dance Directors, we have over 25 experienced instructors who have been teaching music/dance for many years to students of all ages. They have studied musical instruments such as the Piano/Keyboard, Guitar/Bass, Violin, Flute/Recorder, Percussion, Saxophone, Drums, Duduk/Shvi/Zurna (Armenian Wind Instruments) and Vocal/Singing Lessons. Our dance instructors teach various Open Group Classes, Semi-Private, Private, and more! Salsa, Salsa-Aerobics, & other latin dancing are one of the few classes offered along with Belly-Dancing/Oriental Dance, and other social dancing. (Boys & Girls/ Children & Adults/ Singles & Couples of ALL ages are WELCOME).

Directors
Ms. Ellenie Galestian: FSMD's Dance Department Director, is one of the youngest faculty members Teaching adult Dance Classes with Research and History of the art at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). Ellenie obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theatre Arts and Dance from California State University, Los Angeles (CSULA). She has been dedicated in teaching and choreographing various dances for FSMD's annual Recitals successfully for the last 2 years. She has brought dance forms including Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Hip-Hop, Modern, Lyrical, Theatrical Song & Dance, as well as Gymnastics/Tumbling, Acrobatics and more to our performances. Her choreography has shined on stages in Los Angeles, Las Vegas, & New York City. As Ms. Ellenie Galestian commits to our great program, she continues to work and grow as an artist in the dance entertainment and commercial industry.
